LOCATIONS

Welcome to Evie’s Ferry Village Watering Hole, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of South Portland, Maine. Located at 121 Sawyer St, this establishment perfectly embodies the spirit of a neighborhood bar, and it's no wonder that locals are enamored with it.

Upon entering, you'll be greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere reminiscent of the beloved TV show Cheers. Regulars and newcomers alike mingle effortlessly, transforming strangers into friends. Customer Casey Dayhoff perfectly captures this essence when they say it’s a “great mix of friendly local people.” The vibrant energy is palpable, and with the addition of two free pool tables and a selection of arcade games, there's plenty to entertain as you unwind with a refreshing drink.

One of the highlights here is the exceptionally friendly staff. With bartenders like Jess, Emily, Anna, Caitlyn, Stu, Janessa, and Renee—who have all received glowing accolades from patrons—your experience will be nothing short of delightful. As Danielle Tardy notes, walking through the door evokes a sense of community that is increasingly hard to find; it’s not just about the drinks, but the connections you form within this charming watering hole.

  • Affordable Prices: The drinks are budget-friendly, making it a top choice for after-work relaxation or social gatherings.
  • Welcoming Environment: Whether you come with friends or alone, you’re bound to feel at home.
  • Pet-friendly: Bringing your dog? No problem! The spacious interior welcomes pets, and the staff even treats them to some goodies.
  • Remodeled Vibe: Since its change of ownership, Evie’s has been beautifully redone, enhancing its charm and comfort.

As you sip your well-crafted cocktail or ice-cold beer, you’ll find it hard not to get caught up in the jovial atmosphere. Whether watching a game on one of the many TVs or enjoying good tunes from the jukebox, each visit promises a new experience. As Brian Trauger aptly puts it, it’s a “typical dive bar”—yet, Evie’s possesses an extraordinary flair that sets it apart.

With its engaging atmosphere, exceptional service, and the charm of friendly faces, it’s the perfect spot to step away from the daily grind and relish in good company. I’ve been going to this neighborhood bar for almost 2 years now, and this is my FAVORITE place to hang out and wind down after work! Jess, Emily, Anna, Caitlyn, Stu, Janessa, and Renee are all such amazing bartenders that I had to name drop them all. I look forward to the end of every work day because of Evies

Great little dive! Lap dog friendly inside, and the bartender even gave her a treat. Couple of good pool tables, arcade games, and exactly the kind of music on the jukebox that you'd expect.

It's always been the quintessential neighborhood bar, but it's gotten even better with the remodel since the change of ownership. Perfect place to get a drink after work or watch a game on one of their many TVs. The staff and regulars are extremely welcoming.

Typical dive bar. A couple pool tables, dart board. Drinks are cheap and everybody is having a good time.
